My Name is Abdul Munif Hanafi, and I want to tell about Gisting District. Gisting is a district in Tanggamus Regency, Lampung, Indonesia. Gisting a sub-fraction of Talang Padang District. Gisting is a Travel Destinations in Tanggamus Regency. Gisting located at an altitude of ± 700m above sea level with temperatures around 18-28 ° C, and are at the foot of Mount Tanggamus. In Gisting District there are many flower sales center. Gisting also a farm vegetables, such as kale, cabbage, potatoes and carrots. The majority of the population are ethnic Javanese, Lampungesse, Batak, and others. Gisting has a variety of educational centers from play group, kindergarten school, elementary school, junior high school and high school. Gisting also has a market called Gisting markets, a hospitals, many hotels and several tourist locations.

There is a park named Butterfly swimming pool in Gisting District. In it there is a swimming pool and arenas to play in the water. But to get into the butterfly swimming pool park we have to pay the entrance fee of Rp10.000. Gisting also has three hotels namely Hotel 21, Hotel VIP and Hotel Gisting. Hotel 21 has 21 rooms. There is a hospital in the Gisting district namely Rumah Sakit Panti Secanti.

There is two market in Gisting District, the traditional market and the vegetable wholesale market. In traditional market the items commonly sold ranging from primary goods, secondary goods, up to tertiary goods. Traditional market in Gisting district is the main market in this area. Every day the market is always crowded and never quiet. Different from the traditional market, the wholesale market of vegetables just sell vegetables. Only a few sellers who sell items of daily needs. When the evening in front of the vegetable wholesale market there are many street vendors is selling. A lot of people who hang out in front of this vegetable wholesale market.

In Gisting district still many people whose livelihoods as farmers. They farmed a variety of vegetables such as kale, cabbage, potatoes, carrots, peppers, potpourri, etc.

Gisting district consists of eight villages. These villages are Banjarmanis, Gisting Bawah, Kutadalom, Purwodadi, Gisting Atas, Campang, Landbaw, and Sidokaton. 
Gisting District is headed by a district chief. Government Office is in the Kutadalom Village. Current district chief is Mr. Robin Sadek. He led from March 8, 2011. He is from Bandarlampung City. Before he served as district chief of Gisting, he is district secretary of Airnaningan District. Robin Sadek graduated from the College of Public Administration in 2000. 

Tanggamus Mountain

From Gisting District we can see a large mountain, the mountain is Tanggamus Mountain. Height of this mountain is 2.102 meters (6.896 feet) above sea level. Tanggamus Mountains has a beautiful view. Foothills Tanggamus stands firmly among the three districts, namely Kotaagung, Gisting, and Ulubelu. From Gisting District, this mountain looks beautiful in blue. At the peak of Tanggamus Mountain we can still find the typical tropical rain forest plants, such as meranti, Kruing, chaos, rattan, and wood fern grows much. The voice shouted monkeys and gibbons are still able to hear.

Gisting District is about 70 kilometers from Bandar Lampung City. To go to Gisting District from Bandar Lampung City we can go with public transportation. The cost of public transport to go to Gisting is about twenty thousand rupiah for executive class public transportation and fifteen thousand rupiah for economy class public transportation. Economy class public transportation to get to Gisting only be found from morning until noon. While the executive class public transportion can be found from morning to evening.
Travel by public transport to get to Gisting, it takes about two and a half hours to three hours. If we use a private vehicle it takes about a one and a half to two hours.
The journey to Gisting District from Bandar Lampung City through several districts, such as Negri Sakti, Wiyono, Gedongtataan, Gadingrejo, Pringsewu, Pagelaran, Pugung, Talang Padang, and Gunung Alip.
